Artist Jackie Klunk has been painting folk art and sculpting for 25 years. Painting chalkware
began 25 years ago with the purchase of 2 chocolate moulds in the Puget Sound area. Both antique and reproduction moulds
are used to create the chalkware. Each piece of chalkware is poured, painted with acrylic paints, aged with an antiquing
glaze, and then finished with a sealing varnish.
The entire process, from pouring and scraping
the piece, to the final finish can take 5 to 10 hours to complete. Some special detailing can add even more time to
the process. Each piece is signed and dated, and the bottom is covered with a felt base to prevent chipping.
Special requests such as personalization and color and design requests are welcome, subject to time considerations.
